MATERIALS

MATERIALS

A selection of styles from our collections are made from recycled polyester, certified to the Global Recycled Standard. Using recycled polyester in our pieces reduces our reliance on raw and new materials, lessening the demand for oil extraction.

We work with LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and LENZING™ TENCEL™ to source our responsible lyocell and viscose fabrics. LENZING™ TENCEL™ lyocell fibres and LENZING™ECOVERO™ responsible viscose are produced using wood and pulp derived fromresponsibly managed and controlled forests, which are independently certifiedby industry-leading associations. This process uses a unique loop system thatrecovers and reuses solvents used, helping to minimise the environmental impactof its production. Nature continues to inspire us every day.

With the aim of reducing the impact that textiles have on the world, some of our styles are made from organic cotton or a blend of organic and non-organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textiles Standard. Organic cotton is grown in rain-fed areas without the use of polluting synthetic pesticides and fertilisers, helping to sustain the health of soils, stronger biodiversity, and better for the health of cotton growers – creating a better fabric for you and the environment.

Selected styles from our collections are made with recycled cotton, or a blend of recycled cotton and non-recycled cotton, certified to the Global Recycled Standard, helping to reduce the impact on the planet by reducing the amount of water, energy, and harmful chemicals used to create the fabric.

PRODUCTS

PRODUCTS

As part of our Kinder Style journey and with the aim of reducing waste during the production process, we came up with creative ways to reuse fabric. Every season we create hair scrunchie accessories using fabric offcuts, including our Great Plains prints. We continue to look for unique and creative ways to reduce our waste.

Our Great Plains Sport Collection is crafted from responsible materials, including organic cotton, recycled polyester and LENZING™ Modal, a wood-based cellulose fibre produced from trees harvested from sustainably managed forests. Our wellness activewear collection aims to be kind to you, through comfort and flexibility, as well as kind to the world, through careful consideration and design.

We strive to replace conventional materials with more responsible fabrics across our collections. We aim for 50% of our Essential Collection to be crafted from responsible fabrics.

PACKAGING

For products being shipped from the factories to the warehouse, we use LDPE (low-density polyethylene) recycled plastic poly bags. Within the cartons for finished goods, we have reduced the amount of packaging materials with no plastic banding and no inner cartons being used anymore.
Our online orders are packed in LDPE plastic and are recyclable. Our tissue paper used in online orders and in stores can be recycled.

PAPER

We think before we print. Our office printers work from a cloud-based print solution with fob access, ensuring we only print what is needed.

Everyone has a part to play, from our stores to head office. We use First Mile easy recycling.
All plastic and cardboard waste is collected from our UK stores for recycling and returning tote bins and used for shipping to our own UK stores to reduce cardboard usage.

OUR PARTNERS

We’re continuing to work closely to build and strengthen relationships with any long-term and new suppliers we work with. For any manufacturing facilities we work with, we always check their employment and environmental practices are of an acceptable standard. We require all of our suppliers to abide by guidelines set in our Supplier Guide. Our staff visit the factories we use for garment production on a regular basis and consider environment and work practices during those visits. Our Supplier Guide and the employment standard required of our suppliers accord with industry standards including that employees should: be given a safe and healthy environment to work in; be given the right to free association; be paid a fair wage; not be forced or bonded labour; be of an appropriate age; and work only reasonable hours.

In advance if starting to work with us, all our new suppliers must sign up to work within our ethical standards. These are outlined in our Modern Slavery Statement.
